Community Student Service

Community service by students (PMM) is a student assistance and service activity for community development and empowerment in implementing applications, design, technology, or social change in a better direction.

PMM is carried out by UMM students individually or in groups to provide benefits to society.

PMM has the status of a curricular activity that weighs 4 credits and is mandatory for every student. PMM can be taken by students based on a structured study plan (without study period limitations).

Students can independently choose the location/target of PMM activities or the location and scheme offered by DPPM. PMM activities can be carried out in villages, institutions, business units, or certain community groups. PMM activities can be carried out within a period of 30 days to 90 days. Service activity for community development and empowerment in implementing applications, design, technology, or social change in a better direction.

PMM scheme

1.  PMM Baktiku Negeri
  Community service activities, the activities of which are carried out in independently selected villages/areas, including the student's home location. The implementation time is at least one month or the equivalent of at least 140 hours).
2. PMM Mitra Dosen
  Community service activities are carried out by students in partnership with lecturers. This lecturer partner PMM aims to empower the community in certain areas/communities. The implementation time is 2 months or the equivalent of at least 140 hours.
3. PMM Tematik
  Community service that focuses on certain areas by social problems and the direction of development policies implemented by the local government (Regency/City). Thematic PMM is based on Problem-Solving to solve problems with certain themes so that student activities are focused on overcoming certain problems and achieving certain targets.
4. KKN MAs
  Community service organized by the Muhammadiyah Higher Education consortium with programs implemented according to themes and needs in locations based on regional development and community empowerment. The location of Mas KKN is determined by the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership.
5. International PMM
  Community service activities are carried out by students either independently or in collaboration with universities and partners abroad. To carry out community service programs carried out according to themes and needs in locations abroad.
6. Special PMM
  Community service activities carried out by students in specific communities with specific programs, for example PMM related to disaster management, domestic violence management programs, etc.

PMM Requirements

To take part in KMM activities, students are required to be actively registered (with no minimum semester limit) as UMM students, register as PMM participants with DPPM, and pay PMM fees according to the provisions applicable at UMM.


Mentoring

PMM receives guidance from Field Supervisors (DPL) appointed by DPPM. The supervisor is tasked with guiding the implementation of PMM (both online/offline). Guidance can be carried out at any time according to the agreement between the student and the supervisor. System, and technical guidance following DPPM provisions.


Schedule Implementation

The PMM implementation schedule will be regulated technically by the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DPPM).


Output

PMM is implemented with specified outputs, namely: publications in print/electronic media, and video tutorials related to the program being implemented.


Preparation of Reports and Assessments

  • Each PMM student/group is required to prepare a PMM activity report. Reports are uploaded no later than 7 days after the PMM activity ends. The report format is specifically determined in the PMM report preparation guidelines.
  • Assessment of PMM activities is carried out after students have prepared an activity report.
