The Agrotechnology Department of Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) recently hosted an international guest lecture focusing on the fascinating topic of utilizing remote sensing in the management of agricultural and forestry resources. The lecture, held on Monday, October 21, 2024, at GKB IV 9th Floor, UMM, featured two distinguished speakers:
- Dr. Ir. Wahono, MT. from Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang
- Ts. Dr. Nurul Aini Kamarudin from Sultan Zainal Abidin University
With the theme "How Satellite Monitoring and Remote Sensing Can Be Applied to Manage Agricultural Resources and Forestry Effectively," the lecture provided insights on how satellite technology can be applied to monitor and manage agriculture and forestry sectors more effectively. Both speakers emphasized that remote sensing technology not only facilitates the monitoring of large agricultural areas but also provides critical data on plant and forest conditions, potentially aiding in more informed, data-driven management decisions.
This event was compulsory for students from the Agrotechnology Department’s 2023 and 2024 cohorts, aiming to enhance their knowledge and skills in agricultural and forestry technologies. The lecture highlighted the importance of integrating technology to support sustainable and efficient natural resource management.
Prepare to face the future challenges in agriculture and forestry, increasingly influenced by technological advancements!
