The Agrotechnology Study Program has once again held the Diklat Orientasi Keprofesian Mahasiswa Agroteknologi (DOPMA), an orientation and professional development program aimed at shaping the character and competence of new students. This two-day event was attended by 54 first-year students from the program. With great enthusiasm, the participants engaged in a variety of activities designed to foster leadership, build professionalism, and strengthen solidarity among peers.

DOPMA is structured to provide meaningful and profound experiences for new students. Throughout the program, they were introduced to three core subjects essential for navigating academic and professional life. The first topic, Adab and Ethics, focused on instilling proper conduct and communication skills when interacting with lecturers. This subject is considered crucial for fostering positive relationships in academic settings.

Additionally, the Leadership, Management, and Organization (KMO) session captured the participants' interest. This session aimed to teach the importance of teamwork, task management, and organizational responsibility. Through an interactive approach, the topic provided insights applicable to various situations, from student organizations to professional careers.

Beyond theory, the program emphasized practical aspects through the Magot Compost session. In this activity, students learned about organic fertilizer production using maggot larvae. The session not only introduced eco-friendly agricultural technology but also offered hands-on experience that directly engaged the participants in the field.

Fanelga Zahra Flora, the head organizer of the event, expressed her hopes that DOPMA would serve as a positive starting point for the academic journey of new students. “We designed this program to not only provide knowledge but also to foster solidarity and a sense of togetherness among the students,” she remarked.

The event received full support from the Head of the Agrotechnology Study Program, Dr. Ir. Agus Zainudin, MP. In his opening speech, he expressed his appreciation to the organizing committee for successfully planning the event. He also encouraged the participants to engage in the program with enthusiasm and sincerity. His message highlighted the importance of implementing the values learned during DOPMA in their academic and professional lives.

Throughout the event, the participants' enthusiasm was evident. They actively participated in both the lecture sessions and the field practices. One student noted that the experience was remarkable not only for the knowledge gained but also for the opportunity to strengthen bonds with fellow classmates.

This year’s DOPMA was more than just an orientation program; it was a significant step toward fostering strong solidarity among new students. With the spirit shown by the participants, this program is expected to cultivate a generation of Agrotechnology students who are competent, professional, and ready to lead in the future.
