Malang, 20 October 2023 - Muhammadiyah University of Malang (UMM) held a guest lecture in Agrotechnology with the theme "Responding to the Opportunities and Challenges of Sustainable Agricultural Transformation in the Industrial Era 5.0." This event was attended by the Rector of UMM and representatives from PT. Sumber Alam Unggul, dan BSIP JESTRO.
Rector UMM, Prof. Fauzan, Mpd, in his speech, emphasized the importance of agricultural adaptation to the industrial era 5.0 which demands innovation and sustainability. He also highlighted the key role of Agrotechnology students in realizing more efficient and sustainable agriculture.
The main agenda for this guest lecture includes a panel discussion with PT. Syngenta, PT. Sumber Alam Unggul, dan BSIP JESTRO. They present the latest views and solutions regarding the challenges of agricultural transformation in the industrial era 5.0. As a follow-up to the constructive dialogue, UMM also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT. Syngenta, PT. Superior Natural Resources, and BSIP JESTRO. The MoU aims to strengthen cooperation in research, development, and application of technology in agrotechnology to support sustainable agriculture in the future.
It is hoped that this guest lecture event can be the first step towards closer collaboration between the academic world and industry so that it can make a significant contribution in responding to the opportunities and challenges of agricultural transformation in the industrial era 5.0.
